Chameleons Vox Show

I haven't been to a show in forever. Thanks to the everso rad Miss Cuppy who blogged about going to see the Chameleons I was able to end my no-show streak. They are definitely a band I didn't think I'd get to see live and wanted to.

The club was packed and VERY HOT, thanks in part to a mini heat wave that plagued us this week. San Francisco is always ill prepared for warmer weather but thankfully the club had a few fans going. Mark came out wearing a T-Rex tank top and a kilt! *whistles* They opened with Swamp Thing and closed with Second Skin. They then encored with Don't Fall! (upon which I geeked all the way out because that's one of my favorite songs) Mark was so amazing, a more affable front man I have yet to see. He even got off stage and danced with the crowd a bit. Utter coolness!

Silly random show note: I felt short and I'm 5'9''! There were lots of tall guys there :D

It was an awesome night!

Spooky Cute Books

I found two really spooky cute books yesterday :D  The first being Boris and Bella written by Carolyn Crimi, Illustrated by Gris Grimly. Yes, it's written for a younger crowd but how could you not adore a book beautifully illustrated by the amazing Gris Grimly with characters named Bella Legrossi and Boris Kleanitoff?  I had to suppress squeals of glee when I flipped through the pages, it's that sweet! I loved story,  it's a clever tale of two rival monster of the Booville social scene.  Who's Halloween party will reign supreme?

I <3 Bella's ghoulish grin!

and the grim reaper's trick or treat bucket!

Yes, I want a cup like this!!

and delivery bats! ^v^

The other nifty thing I found is a complete the picture book called Halloween Doodles by Emma Parrish.  With tasks like "Decorate the witch hats" , "Fill the graveyard with tombstones" and "Draw in the vampire's fangs" I could not resist! I think I will do one page for each day of October leading up to Halloween and post them here :D A crafty advent Halloween calendar of sorts!

Yikes! Run zombies!!

So much to love about this time of year! In the mean time I'm going to attempt to stay away from the Halloween display table in the kids' section at the bookstore. No, I will not succeed in this!

Fall Decor and Love

I'm coming to the realization that I may always be a couple pages behind the prompts :) My next two pages:

Journal Prompt:  Today I would like you to create a page dedicated to all of your ideas for autumn decor.   I love to decorate my home with simple, cheap, DIY projects around each season's change.

My page:

I got so stuck on the the Fall Decor prompt, I had a really hard time thinking of what to do for this page. This turned t to be one of my favorite pages so far!

I found the "pumpkin as fall flower arrangement holder" idea online and the picture they had looked way less goofy than my pumpkin vase! It would probably make a pretty center piece on a Halloween or Thanksgiving dinner table. The silk maple leaves in tall vases looked very elegant, it's an idea I'd try. I used to have a giant pumpkin spice scented candle that I loved and it did indeed smell awesome! As for the couch makeover that's something I've needed and wanted to do for a while.

Journal Prompt:  Why I heart fall?  What are the reasons behind your love for this season?  Why is fall so amazing to you??

My page:

While I had few ideas for the decor page I think I had too many ideas for this page! I like the way my mini quilt in the middle turned out though :)

Meet my apple cider and pumpkin spice latte couple! Lately I cannot resist the urge to draw faces on things.

Next time the colors and tastes of fall!

Journal Goals

Journal Prompt:  Today I want you to come up with 3-5 simple, accomplishable goals for your journal.  These goals are a great way to keep you motivated throughout this little adventure.
My page:

I'm going to stick to the first of my journal goals and make time to work on my pages everyday! It's been a bit crazy this week and I'm hoping next week will be much calmer.

My goal to Not freak out over mistakes is a big one for me. I'm going to spend less time obsessing over tiny flaws and more time enjoying this class and this season!

I ♥ Fall! (really I do!)

An unexpected (and really cruddy) project has kept me from my I Heart Fall journal prompts :( Class started Monday so via la catch up post!

Journal Cover!

This was so much fun! I organized my craft supplies which I hadn't touched in ages due to various moves, work and not so fun stuff, apparently I was planning a Fall themed something way back when.  I found lots of autumn inspired things to use :)

I miss drawing and painting, I loved making these leaves and hearts!

and our first prompt!

Day One Journal Prompt:  I always like to start my new journals with two things; a Welcome page/Intro page and then a goal page (which we will do tomorrow).  I love a fresh start.  Today I want you to create a Welcome page for your journal.  Welcoming the new season, welcoming your readers, welcoming the idea of journaling :)
My page:
Playing catch up a bit more tomorrow!

Super Cute Cloud Bag!

I just saw this today at Borders, I love the design! It's huge, which is how I like my bags since I tend to carry around everything but the kitchen sink. It would even make a good weekend trip bag. Do I really need a super kawaii rather large cloud shaped bag? NO. Do I really WANT said bag? Absolutely!
